Welcome to the 2025 Global Gathering!

When: September 8 - 10, 2025

Where: Estoril, Portugal

The 2025 edition of the Global Gathering (GG) will welcome over 1,500 participants in the last stage of Team CommUNITY’s three-year plan to grow the event in a safe, secure and sustainable way.

The GG brings together digital rights networks from around the world for three days of collaboration building, knowledge sharing, brainstorming, and rejuvenation. Event activities focus on enhancing networking, and collaborative discussions.

Global Gathering Overview

The 2025 GG will feature networking and collaboration opportunities, digital rights meetups and discussions, project showcases,villages, workshops, and more. This year’s programmatic themes are:

  • Organizational Sustainability
  • Security, Threats and Risks
  • Circumvention and Secure Communication Technologies
  • Grassroots Visions and Technologies
