We are looking for an online facilitator that can help us run several events. This person will be intrinsic to the team, as we research, design and implement online events meant to increase engagement within the digital rights community
Location: Remote
Responsibilities:
- Research, design and implement online events for the digital rights community.
- Project manage event production
- Serve as liaison between participants
- Ensure that events are following best-in-breed security protocols
Qualifications
The facilitator should have a good understanding of how to run online events, experience designing collaborative, open space events, and feels comfortable working in a multicultural environment. In addition, the facilitator should have a good understanding of digital security and experience working with the Internet Freedom community. About the IFF
The Internet Freedom Festival is a yearly event that brings together over 1,000 activists, journalists, FLOSS technologists, human rights defenders and researchers to join forces to fight online censorship and surveillance, and advocate for a free and open internet. The IFF nurtures collective efforts which, through diversity, inclusivity and collaboration, support online freedom of expression, protection from digital threats, and expanded access to online spaces. It is considered one of the largest, most diverse and most inclusive unconferences in the world, which is made by the community for the community. Traditionally, more than 50% of speakers and participants identify as women and gender non-conforming, and more than 60% of participants come from the Global South.
