The Global Gathering (GG) brings together digital rights defenders from around the world for three days of collaboration building, knowledge sharing, brainstorming, and rejuvenation. These are individuals working on the most pressing challenges arising at the intersection of human rights, social justice and technology, and/or are actively protecting their networks.

Our 2024 Global Gathering edition was part of a three-year vision to grow the event to the impact, size, and scope achieved pre-pandemic in a sustainable way that prioritizes the safety of our community.

2024 Global Gathering Edition

The Global Gathering 2024 was the second edition of our first in-person event post-pandemic, welcoming around 1,000 participants. It took place on September 27, 28, and 29 and we included co-designed Villages, Circles, Booths, Regional and Practitioners Meetups, evening activities, and much more!
